We live in a business environment in which the public is overwhelmed by competing trade names and symbols.
A Corporate Identity Programme helps project a strong, consistent and easily-recognisable image of a company through all its written and visual communications.
Pannar Corporate Identity Manual
It also:
- creates awareness of the company, its products and services;
- serves as a guarantee of reliability and consistent quality;
- represents a reservoir of goodwill for the company;
- provides legal protection of the company trade marks.
Trade names and symbols are amongst the most valuable assets a company possesses. A well-designed Corporate Identity Programme and the judicious use of its trade marks strengthens and enhances the stature of the company in the eyes of the public.
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE CORPORATE IDENTITY MANUAL
The Corporate Identity Manual serves to:
- explain in detail the Corporate Symbol adopted by the company;
- prescribe guidelines and rules for its use throughout the company;
- provide a reference for correct and constant use of the Corporate Identity to maximise its effectiveness.
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CORPORATE IDENTITY PROGRAMME
Whether visual communications involve printed material, packaging, signage or advertising, the accuracy required to project a desired image can be ensured only if the Corporate Identity Programme is implemented exactly and respected at all times.
The Marketing Department in liaison with the Legal Director are responsible for administering the Corporate Identity Programme.
Marketing Department function is to:
- issue a copy of the Manual to each Head of Department, who then monitors its application within his/her own department;
- update the Manual when necessary and issue supplements to each Manual holder;
- provide design assistance with all new identity or trade mark applications;
- The Legal Director’s function is to acquire and maintain trade mark registrations;
- take appropriate action to protect the company’s Corporate Identity against outside persons/organisations using the same or similar trade marks.
All employees are urged to assist in this regard by bringing such cases to the attention of the Legal Director.
Any item which does not conform to the standards outlined in this Manual must be corrected as soon as possible – in the case of printed matter and packaging, when stocks are depleted and, in the case of signage, when maintenance or replacement is required.
Major replenishment of stocks of printed material and packaging bearing the company’s trade marks must be cleared by the Marketing Department before orders are placed.
Rules and guidelines contained in this Manual must be strictly adhered to. Any questions regarding interpretation or implementation of the Corporate Identity Programme or use of the company’s trade mark in new or alternative applications must be referred to the Marketing Department. All new identity or trade mark applications are subject to written approval from the Legal Department.
All new identity or trade mark applications are subject to written approval from the Legal Director.
